Apple, Digital Music's Angel, Earns Record Industry's Scorn

Paul Thurrott has a post on his blog. The post is about Apple opening up the ipod platform.

"Apple's success is a mixed bag. Apple's standard 99 cent price is good, but it's refusal to allow music from other services to work on the iPod is horribly bad." -- Paul Thurrott

I agree with the statement. I believe Apple should open the ipod / itunes platform. But it goes both ways, why can't I being a mac user download music from Yahoo, Napster or Musicmatch. Why is Apple the only one that has to make concessions. I find it hard to believe Microsoft with all it's billions can't release window's media player 10 for the mac.

After all it's Mac Zealots like myself and others that showed the record labels money could be made selling music legally online. Apple may have invented the online music market but we bought into it.
